Happy to reconnect with my good friend Dutch Minister-president Mark Rutte over a video call yesterday. We had a lot to catch up on, since our last meeting was over a year ago, just before the pandemic started.
Both Mark and I are preoccupied with managing COVID-19 and vaccinating our peoples. But we are also focussed on longer term challenges like climate change and sustainable development. I shared with him that we are building our first polder on Pulau Tekong, with the help of Dutch experts (https://str.sg/3ooQ). I had mentioned this in my National Day Rally two years ago.
Looking forward to meeting Mark in person soon, and doing more with our Dutch friends as we chart our paths toward post-COVID recovery. – LHL
